Randolph Community College is proud to announce that Giovanni Bustamante, a dedicated student in the Automotive Systems Technology program, was the lucky winner of a brand-new laptop at Monday’s FAFSA Fiesta. This exciting event, which was designed to assist students with their FAFSA completion, turned out to be a rewarding experience for Bustamante, as he walked away with a valuable tool to further his education.

After finding out an in-person FAFSA appointment would include Spanish translation for his mother, Bustamante decided to attend the Fiesta. Little did he know he would walk away with more than a completed application.

“It means a lot because I’m going to start school soon [at RCC], and I don’t have a computer. I’m going to have schoolwork online; I’m planning to keep it for a long time,” he said. “I wanted to come to RCC because the program is really good, and the instructors are very helpful.”

Bustamante said he plans to continue working for Mercedes-Benz and, eventually, open his own auto shop.

“At Randolph Community College, we are committed to supporting our students’ educational journeys in every way possible," RCC President/CEO Dr. Shah Ardalan said. “Giovanni winning this laptop at our FAFSA Fiesta is a reminder of the transformative impact these opportunities can have on our students. This prize will help him continue to excel in his studies and pursue his passion for automotive engineering.”
