RCC, Pfeiffer sign articulation agreement
Randolph Community College and Pfeiffer University faculty and staff, along with members of the RCC Board of Trustees and RCC Foundation Board, gathered Tuesday, April 19, in the Martha Luck Comer Conference Center for an agreement signing ceremony. The bilateral articulation agreement will make it easier for RCC students to seamlessly transfer credits upon graduating from the College and admission into Pfeiffer. The agreement features 15 different 2+2 agreements and includes online degrees.
“We go back a long way in terms of our relationship with Pfeiffer,” RCC President Dr. Robert S. Shackleford Jr. said. “A lot of good has come out of this relationship. This is a comprehensive agreement that is going to provide great opportunities for RCC students and Randolph County residents.”
“I couldn’t be prouder, signing this agreement today,” said Pfeiffer University President Dr. Scott Bullard, noting he has been coming to Asheboro since he was young to visit his aunt at Christmastime. “From the first weeks of my presidency in the summer of 2019, families such as the Pughs and the Chriscoes and the Knapps have urged me to get to know this campus better. They have sung your praises. I couldn’t be prouder to be signing this agreement today.
“The Trustees gave me a challenge when I was made President and that was to be a community builder. In Stanly County, we have been focusing on teaching education, the education of nurses, the education of our future government officials, and the education of future police officers through our Criminal Justice major. … We couldn’t be more excited about working with you on forming students who will be in the most important academic pillars that end up forming strong communities.”
