Boone appointed to RCC Board of Trustees
ASHEBORO — Harvey Boone of Asheboro was recently appointed as a new member of the Randolph Community College Board of Trustees by the North Carolina Governor’s Office. Boone signed his oath of office Tuesday, Sept. 15, and replaces Shirley McAnulty.
“My hope is that I can objectively lend a vision of continued growth for prospective students and opportunity at the College,” said Boone, who was appointed to a four-year term ending June 30, 2024.
“I hope to learn more in my role as a board member about the process of how the College functions and operates within the community college system. Simply put, my role will evolve over time and, hopefully, my input will serve the greatest resource at the College, the students.”
Boone received his bachelor’s in Art/Urban Affairs from Winston-Salem State University, and is currently a Quality Control Chemist at Alberdingk Boley. He was the chapter president of the NAACP and WSSU, and a board member of the East Side Improvement Agency.
He and his wife, Marie, have two children, Nichole Wolff and Camille Green, both graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
